Our school meals are always fresh, very nutritious, and great value for money. A two-course meal including a drink is only £10.25 weekly, that’s £2.05 a day for Key Stage 2 children. Key Stage 1 children are entitled to a free school meal.
School meals are cooked on site and charged at a subsidised rate. The school operates a cafeteria system with a wide option of hot and cold meals, including salads and sandwiches.
As the school meals recording system is computerised we ask that lunch money be paid promptly on a Monday (or the first day of your child’s attendance in school) in the envelopes provided, clearly marked with your child’s name, class and amount. Cheques are preferable, made payable to Stockton Borough Council. Absentees are credited the following week for meals paid for but not taken.
We ask for half a term’s notice if your child wishes to change from a school meal to a packed lunch, and children should not alternate between packed lunches and school meals during the week.
Free school meals are supplied to children whose families are in receipt of certain support payments. If you think your child may be entitled to free meals, please contact the school or the Free School Meals Section, Education Department, Municipal Buildings, Church Road, Stockton. Every effort is made to ensure that children receiving free meals cannot be distinguished from other children.
All food must be eaten in the dining area and children must remain on the premises throughout lunchtime in the care of the mid-day supervisory assistances. In exceptional circumstances children may be excluded from lunchtimes by the Headteacher if it is felt that their continued presence is not beneficial to the conduct of an orderly civilised lunch break.
